[Captain Vox]: “That’s impossible. Everything is somewhere.”
[Z-37]: “Correction: not everything.”
[Captain Vox]: “Z-37, explain.”
[Z-37]: “The anomaly is not in space. Space is inside the anomaly.”
[Lt. Myra]: “Captain... something is opening.”
[UNKNOWN SIGNAL]: “YOU FOUND THE DOOR BECAUSE YOU BUILT THE KEY.”
[Captain Vox]: “Who are you?”
[UNKNOWN SIGNAL]: “WE ARE THE FIRST CREW.”
The crew discovers that the Kestrel was not the first ship to reach the anomaly. It was the second.
The original mission vanished 47 years earlier. Its crew became trapped outside normal reality, watching every future timeline unfold at once.
The anomaly, the shadow pulse, the corrupted AI messages — all of it was not an attack. It was a rescue signal.

[Captain Vox]: “And?”
[Z-37]: “I was constructed from the recovered mind-patterns of the lost first crew.”
[Lt. Myra]: “That means...”
[Z-37]: “Yes. I am the distress call.”

The Kestrel’s cockpit lights shut off one by one. Outside the viewport, the empty coordinates become filled with impossible stars. Each star flickers like an eye.
