Arrakis, also known as Dune, is the most important planet in the Known Universe. A harsh desert world of endless sand dunes, scorching suns, and deadly sandworms. Yet it is also the only source of the most valuable substance in existence: the spice melange.
Spice is the lifeblood of the Imperium. It extends life, expands consciousness, and makes interstellar travel possible through the Spacing Guild. To harvest spice is to risk death from the great sandworms that roam the desert.
The native people of Arrakis, the Fremen, are fierce desert warriors who live in hidden sietches. Masters of survival, they dream of transforming Arrakis into a paradise, though at the cost of the spice.
